Community Chipping "Air Care" Event
Through the Okanogan Conservation District and the LRAA Firewise Committee partnership, an industrial chipper is being provided for LRAA on May 13th.
Get your yard work done and build piles by the side of the road/driveway for easy access. Additional instruction will be available in the coming weeks. From what we understand there is now no requirement for homeowners to be home to have chipping completed. Just have yard waste ready and staged.

In the meantime...
• Please check out the Firewise page describing the Home Ignition Zone.
• If you want to know about the air quality in Lost River, you can sign into the Purple Air Sensor, which is located on the runway.
Spring Means Hungry Bears
The snow has melted and bears are waking up. We haven’t seen any bear activity yet, but now is the time to start good bear habits.
Put food and garbage away in places bears cannot get to. Close and lock up after yourselves at the dumpsters, keep your grills clean and remember bears love bird feeders. Let's keep both us and the bears safe this year. Bears who develop bad habits of getting into food and garbage we leave accessible often have to be relocated or killed. For more information about good bear practices visit BearWise.

LRAA Airstrip is Now Open
Please drive 15 mph or slower and keep off the old road footprint.
Thanks to Matt for his work and the cooperation between Roads and Airport Committees. The North Taxiway road has been moved back to make the runway safer for pilots and new gravel placed on it.
