Fonda, NY – The Montgomery County Business Development Center is pleased to announce the recent approval of a $200,000 Loan to NY Bake Factory and AJ Bake Factory. NY Bake Factory and AJ Bake Factory is in the process of renovating the former Beech Nut Cereal Plant in the Village of Fort Plain.
“In both the western and eastern ends of Montgomery County, the Montgomery County Business Development Center (MCBDC) continues to get results. The approval of the loan to NY Bake Factory, which will create jobs, is indicative of the momentum of our local economic development efforts and the local economy,” Montgomery County Executive Matthew L. Ossenfort said. “This is highlighted by the recent numbers that show our private sector job growth rate is higher than the state’s average and the county’s unemployment is the lowest it’s been in a decade. I applaud the MCBDC for its efforts to work with businesses, both small and large, and help them locate and flourish throughout Montgomery County.”
The facility will be used for a breadstick and cookie line and is expected to create 50 employee’s over the next 3 years. The owner has decades of experience in the breadstick industry and acquired the former Stella D’oro breadstick machinery and equipment line when Stella D’oro sold the operations to another company and closed their New York City location.
