We are celebrating World Interfaith Harmony Week from Feb 1-7. This edition features collected resources to host your own event, and we are excited to announce several webcasts in support of the theme "Faith Action for Sustainable Development and the One Trillion Trees Initiative."
The Pacific Coast virtual group will co-host "Seeds of Peace: Growing a New Alliance of Virtue" with superstar speakers from the global interfaith movement. Registration details for the free webinar are below.
I am also co-producing a webcast series focused on environmental stewardship beginning with "When Prophecies Come True" this Sunday January 24 at 3pm with Chief Arvol Looking Horse, the 19th-generation keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle. World Interfaith Harmony Week is based on UNGA Resolution A/65/PV.34 for a worldwide week of interfaith harmony proposed in 2010 by HM King Abdullah II and HRH Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad of Jordan. All around the world, organizations and individuals host events during the first week of February to help neighbors of different faiths get to know each other and build a foundation for more peaceful and friendly communities.
World Interfaith Harmony Week encourages grassroots events that link people together in a global wave of understanding, respect, and action. One week in a year, all interfaith groups and other groups of goodwill can show the world their international movement. The thousands of events organized by these groups often go unnoticed not only by the general public, but also by other groups themselves. This week allows for these groups to become aware of each other and strengthen the movement by building ties and avoiding duplicating each others’ efforts.
