Town Council to Meet on Wednesday, November 2, 2011
The Duck Town Council will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Administrative Office, 1240 Duck Road, Suite 106 (The Waterfront Shops). For the agenda,

Road Repaving to Begin on Duck Road (NC 12)
The North Carolina Department of Transportation through its contractor, RPC Contracting, Inc., is scheduled to begin repaving and striping in the Village Commercial District on NC 12 (Duck Road) in the Town of Duck beginning on or around Tuesday, November 1, 2011.  The project area will begin at Plover Drive and continue through the Town to just north of Sandy Ridge Drive.  The project is expected to take three to four days depending on weather conditions. During the repaving and striping, motorists can expect traffic delays due to temporary lane closures throughout the project area. Expedited Storm Permit Process Implemented
The Town has implemented an expedited storm permit process. The permit form is online. Town permit fees will be waived for Hurricane Irene-related damages until November 29, 2011. For CAMA-related information, click here. For questions, please call the Town at (252) 255-1234.

Duck Jazz Festival Merchandise Still Available
5th Annual Duck Jazz Festival t-shirts are still available and make great holiday gifts!  Short sleeve t-shirts are $20 and long sleeve shirts are $25.  The shirts are available at the Duck Town Office, 1240 Duck Road, Duck, North Carolina or can be shipped for a $6 shipping and handling fee.  Shirts come in white and various shades of blue and can be viewed on-line.  For questions on color and size availabilty, please e-mail us at or call us at (252) 255-1234 during regular business hours.

Duck Police Department Participates in Operation Medicine Drop
The Town of Duck Police Department is participating in Operation Medicine Drop.  Law enforcement officers will be at the Town's Public Safety Building on Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. so that the public may drop off any unwanted/unused prescription and over-the-counter medicine.  Additional details are online


Wall Decor Committee to Meet
The Wall Decor Committee will meet on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Town Administrative Office, 1240 Duck Road, Suite 106 (The Waterfront Shops).  The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.  The agenda is online. 

Comprehensive Transportation Plan for Dare County Being Developed
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is working with Dare County and all its municipalities, along with Albemarle Rural Planning Organization, to develop a Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) for Dare County. The CTP is a long range multi-modal transportation plan that will cover transportation needs through the year 2040. Findings from the CTP study will be based on an analysis of the transportation system, environmental screening, and public input. For more information on the CTP, please visit the CTP webpage.
