Planning Board Meeting

The Planning Board has rescheduled their monthly meeting for Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Paul F. Keller Meeting Hall. The agenda is available here.

Comprehensive & Land Use Plan Open House Documents

A public open house workshop was held on Tuesday, September 17, for Duck's Comprehensive and Land Use Plan Update. If you were unable to attend, you may view visuals from the open house here. If you wish to submit comments, you may do so here or by emailing The comment period will close on Friday, October 18.

Community Conversation About Property Insurance

Learn more about the importance of flood insurance with Dare County and the Outer Banks Association of Realtors.  October 22, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the First Flight High School Auditorium.

Residential Trash Collection 

As of October 1, residential trash collection resumed the off-season schedule. Collection will take place on Mondays only until April 30, 2020.

Fall Bulk Waste Collection

The Fall Bulk Waste Collection will occur Friday, October 18.

Items should be ready for pick-up no later than 5:00 a.m. on the scheduled bulk waste collection day.

Bulk waste can include all large items including televisions, mattresses and yard/vegetative debris.

Yard and vegetative debris must be bagged or CLEARLY tied into bundles of four (4) foot lengths or less weighing NO MORE than 50 pounds each.

Nature on the Boardwalk

Rhana Paris, educator with the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island, is back this fall to lead Nature on the Boardwalk. Remaining fall dates for the walk are scheduled for:

Rotating Art Show: Robin York

The Town of Duck Rotating Art Show is now displaying work by Robin York and Students from the College of the Albemarle. The exhibit can be viewed in the First Floor Conference Room at Duck Town Hall Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) August 1 - October 24. Click here for more information.
