Pedestrian Plan Phase III Update

Phase III of the Comprehensive Pedestrian Plan is making great progress. RPC stayed ahead of schedule over the past week  with the pouring of new sidewalk in the area south of Barrier Island Station and the new stairway on the east side of the Barrier Island Shoppes crosswalk. They have also completed all driveways throughout the project area. Millstone Marine completed construction of a low retaining wall in front of the Barrier Island Shoppes and began construction of a larger retaining wall in between Sea Colony Drive and Dune Rd.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, RPC plans to complete grading in the block between Cook Dr. and Duck Deli to prepare the area for Millstone to construct a retaining wall over the first week of December.

All construction work will cease over the Thanksgiving holiday. For more information and updates click here.
