July Newsletter

Wow, summer is here and it is hot and very dry!  With much of the west on fire we can’t complain about a little heat.  The sheep are all moved to the high summer range and the elk and bison have completed their calving.  We have a great crop of new critters.

The elk antlers are growing quickly and it won’t be long until the hunting season begins. We are fortunate to have Mark Harrison from New Zealand as one of our guides this fall.  Mark has guided for us before and owns his own hunting operation, Lochinvar Safaris in New Zealand.

Mike Smith, our elk ranch manager and guide says we have some of the best bulls we have ever had. John Rumsey, Robert Davis, Hal Buster, and our son J.C. are all anxious to guide you this fall.  They go out with the spotting scope every chance they get to check out the horn growth.

Although it is the dog days of summer it won’t be long until we will hear the sounds of the bugle at Juniper Mountain. We still have some openings for this fall so if you haven’t book your hunt yet please contact us for available dates.
