Making Headlines: Thanksgiving Travel
Thanksgiving break is upon us! That means Middlesex students will empty out of the dorms for a few days, and our community will (hopefully) take some much needed rest. As students prepare to leave campus, it’s critical they know their transportation plans and fill out vacation travel forms on Moodle, which open up next week. Here, we offer another reminder to finalize Thanksgiving transportation plans and communicate them with your child.
For Thanksgiving break, Winter break, and March break, Middlesex offers shuttles to Logan Airport as well as a chartered bus to New York City that makes stops in Stamford, CT, the Upper East Side, and Penn Station. We may also be able to provide transportation to South Station, North Station, the Route 128 Amtrak Station (in Westwood), and other Boston-area transportation hubs. To sign up for this service, each student simply needs to fill out a vacation travel form on Moodle. Prior to each major break, Dean team member, John MacMullen will send an email to the student body outlining this process. The cost of the NYC bus is $75 each way, and the cost of the airport shuttle buses is $35 each way. Charges for either of the services will be placed on the students' school bill. Please note that the School does not arrange transportation for students on regular weekends, long weekends, or at the end of the school year.
If you wish to arrange transportation in a private car for your child, we encourage you to use Go Boston Shuttle (formerly known as Ultimate Livery) (https://www.gobostonshuttle.com/). If you enter 'middlesex' in the group ID box you will be directed to our own affiliated page within Go Boston Shuttle's site. From the Middlesex page, there is an option to pick up at the student's dorm and to place the charge on the students' school bill. The cost of a private van or car typically runs from about $90 to about $150.
Please feel free to direct any questions to John MacMullen in the Deans' Office.
