What's up this week with
Believers On Mountain Bikes (BOMB)

Weekly Update

A lot of afterwork fun left to be had this season, record the Bronco game this Thursday, charge up those lights and come ride North Table Mountain in Golden. If you don't see people in the parking lot, head up to the bike park as we'll do starter lap at the bike park then head up the lithic trail. The bike park is behind and to the right of the brewery.

Let's park at the New Terrain Brewery which is by the Golden Bike Park. Meet up the hill by the bike park. Bring lights

What do you love to dream about when you have a spare moment?  Maybe your next mountain bike build.  Or perhaps it is the perfect downhill line, or thinking about how to clean a technical climb.
I'm starting to read Tim Keller's book Counterfeit Gods.  In that book Keller talks about idols.  He explains it in a short preview of the book here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEtdMKjohR8.  Part of what he challenges us to ask - when you have a moment of free time in your life, what do you think about?  That could be an idol.  He's not necessarily saying it is, but it could be.  Part of the book is to help explore idols in our life.  If you are obsessing so much about the next bike build that you can't think about anything else and it separates you from God, it could be an idol.  I (Doug) found this blurb from Keller's book interesting and a good self-examination.  As I get further into the book, I will post more devotionals relating to it.  If you want to read along with me, grab a copy or download a copy of Keller's book - Counterfeit Gods, and we can explore the learnings as we ride.
