What's up this week with
Believers On Mountain Bikes (BOMB)

Weekly Update

The Moab Trip is next month!  Sept 19-22.
Two things to do this week
  1.  Confirm your lodging and travel plans for Thursday Sept 19 - Sunday Sept 22. I know some people still need a place to stay.
  2.  Book your Friday 7:30 am Shuttle for The Whole Enchilada
White Ranch this week, we start at the lower lot.  They give out tickets if you park out of bounds, so plan on getting there a little early.

Remember all that advice you got when you first started riding that may not have been as good?  Anyone remember, "Get behind the saddle", "Maybe you need a longer stem, narrower bars and more air in the tires to go faster?"  Remember how you felt the first time you tried a steep, rocky trail like Longhorn at White Ranch, then each time you rode you felt more confident?  We all mature as riders, so also with our faith.  To what end? The skills we gain as riders and the gifts we mature as Christians are not the end to themselves.

We are to be out on the trail using our skills to ride. We are ministers in the world using those skills and gifts to produce something.  What are you using your gifts for?

Ephesians 4:11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
