Our Favorite Products

All of a sudden, spring is here! Kick start your garden with reliable products. Below are three of our favorites.
[photo] Compost topdressing
Oly Mountain Fish CompostThis awesome stuff is high in organic matter and soil-building nutrients that improve soil structure. It's great to use to amend existing soil before planting. It can also be used as mulch and for topdressing lawns as pictured above. Remember, good soil is the key to a healthy garden! Find retailers here.

Superthrive Planting HormonePlants experience shock when jostled out of their pot and placed into new soil. Help your plants adjust to their home with this transplanting hormone. It's packed with vitamins and nutrients and also helps to establish healthy root systems. Valley Nursery carries it as does the big box retailers with garden centers.

Dr Earth Life FertilizerThis all purpose fertilizer could be called "plant food for dummies" because it's so easy to use. Apply it per the directions on the bag and water it in. You don't have to work it into the soil making it a great go-to product for gardeners who don't have a lot of time. It provides balanced food for veggies, potted plants and even trees, shrubs and annuals.

Now get outside and garden!

Featured Project

This concrete and landscaping project was done in two phases. The concrete was completed last summer and the retaining wall, beds and planting was done over the winter.

The Roman slate stamped concrete walkway links the back yard patio to the driveway. The driveway consists of exposed aggregate with Roman slate borders.

We planted a ton of natives where landscaped areas meet up with the property's woodland backdrop. Here, we selected plants that do well in part-shade to part-sun conditions such as Mahonia 'Soft Caress,' Hakonechloa macra 'All Gold' and Hellebores.
