Sign up for Feb. 25 Spring Internship Fair!

The Internship Fair can help you land a job after college. Just ask recent grad Alana Minkler (at left), who landed a summer fellowship with the Arizona Republic after interviewing with alum John D'Anna. Because of that contact, she later accepted a full-time job at the Santa Rosa (Calif.) Press Democrat when D'Anna took an editor's position there.

So please take advantage of the Spring Internship Fair on FRIDAY, FEB. 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Recruiters from 18 media outlets will interview students in-person or remotely for internships — and jobs — for summer and fall 2022. Some employers are available for a half-day, so sign up for limited slots now — and make sure your times don't overlap. Note: The SignUpGenius site is best viewed on your laptop or computer. If all the time slots are taken, please let me (Mike Chesnick) know, and I'll ask the employer for more slots.

Recruiters are asking students to email cover letters, resumes and links/clips of their work by TUESDAY, FEB. 22. You can do background on each employer by clicking on the links below. The media outlets are:

If you're enrolled in or have completed JOUR 205, and/or have a year at the Daily Wildcat or a community college paper, you can apply for most internships (Arizona Daily Star apprentices need JOUR 306 or JOUR 506). If you have questions about whether to interview for a certain internship, contact Internship Coordinator Mike Chesnick or Academic Adviser Paloma Boykin. You can earn up to three credits for an internship (see details).

Enjoy your weekend, and check out NEW listings below and deadlines. Info for the Hearst contest is below, too.
