AZPM seeks students for election podcast

Arizona Public Media is looking for two students to be researchers for a new election podcast, starting in late July or by the time fall 2022 classes start on Aug. 22. The pay is $13 per hour, and students can work up to 20 hours a week with a flexible schedule to accommodate their classes.

The political fact-check podcast will focus on ads, social media claims/statements, or things said in public appearances during the campaign season. The students will work with our political reporter, podcast producer, and news director to determine what topics will be checked and then do the research. The student should have excellent journalism research skills and writing ability. In addition to the research and writing, students will have the opportunity to help with production of the podcast.

Interested students should email a cover letter and résumé to me at mchesnick1@arizona.edu by Thursday, May 19, and I’ll forward the materials to Christopher Conover, news director at AZPM.
