Want to be mentored by a NY Times journalist?

The Times Corps is a talent-pipeline program for college students — especially students of color and from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds — to receive career guidance from New York Times journalists over a multiyear period. It is open to the Classes of 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. Students will talk with their Times advisers perhaps two or three times a year, up to the duration of students’ undergraduate careers, with the focus primarily on career-building advice. Students who complete the program will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City, tour the  newsroom and meet Times journalists in person. Apply here, and contact me if you need help. June 15 is the deadline. If you are selected, you could receive consideration for The New York Times Fellowship, an immersive, yearlong work program, after you graduate.

Apply for Bowen Foundation internship program

The Emma Bowen Foundation promotes a more diverse industry by recruiting promising students of color and placing them in multi-year paid internships at some of the nation's leading media and tech companies, such as Comcast NBCUniversal, Discovery, Hearst Television, the New York Times, the NFL, Spectrum, and ViacomCBS. Undergrads and those graduating next month are eligible to apply, if they have a 3.0 GPA. Apply here, and contact me if you need help.
