A key component of successful care is empowering individuals to be self-advocates. Often, connecting individuals with advocacy networks serves multiple purposes: the individual may gain new skills, refine communication skills, develop confidence, and may become more proactive and compliant with care plans.

Family Voices Indiana can help individuals connect with an appropriate advocacy network and will provide resources to individuals seeking to become advocates for themselves, their family, or their community.

Self-Advocates of Indiana, Kiwanis Aktion Club, and KASA (Kids as Self Advocates) are great networks for individuals looking to find an inclusive community that develops advocacy skills.

Family Voices Indiana's blog is a valuable resource for policy updates, alerts for input opportunities, and information affecting CYSHCN.

We are here to support your care coordination efforts. If you have a topic you’d like to have us cover, please email jen@fvindiana.org.
