Exhibition "ÃŽle Seguin 11/22/11" - Analyse & Experiment, session #9
Guest Speaker: Alexandre Quoi (FR) with Tim Maul (USA)

With the support of the French Embassy in Ireland, Black Church Print Studio has invited Alexandre Quoi (Marseille, FR), a young contemporary art historian, researcher and curator to be a key participant in the Studio’s bi-annual discursive event Analyse &  Experiment. This event is an integral part of the exhibition ÃŽle Seguin 11/25/11, which features the New York based photographer and critic Tim Maul. The show is curated by Valerie Connor and will run at the gallery of Black Church Print Studio from 9th – 25th January 2013.

Alexandre Quoi was appointed Associate Professor in Contemporary Art History at the Aix-Marseille University in 2013. This year, he will also lecture at the National School of Photography, Arles, as an invited professor. Most recently, Quoi was the Research Officer at Centre Pompidou-Metz.

The Film Qlub is a special interest club, catering for film-lovers in Dublin, screening one film every month, as part of a series of themed seasons. All the films selected are of interest to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. The Film Qlub aims to bring back to the screen a series of forgotten classics and rarely screened films, all of which are arty, sexy, and committed.

Residency opportunity in Irish Cultural Centre, Paris

Irish/Irish-based artists are invited to apply for residencies at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris.

Artists in residence have been appointed on an annual basis since the Centre Culturel Irlandais opened in the Irish College in October 2002. The residency programme gives recipients the chance to spend time in Paris and engage with one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world.

For a residency between August 2014 and July 2015, the deadline for receipt of application is 17.00 on Monday 27 January 2014.

A New Website for the Lycée Français d'Irlande
The Lycée Français d'Irlande is a French teaching institution, approved by the French Department of Education and attached to the Agency for French Teaching Abroad (l'Agence pour l’Enseignement Français à  l’Etranger - AEFE) through a convention.
 
The Lycée Français d’Irlande has launched its new website. It is an updated and more user-friendly version. The entire school community will find updated news on the LFI’s school life. External visitors will be able to find useful information on admissions, curricula and services.

Teaching Assistant in France 2014/2015

This scheme is aimed at students who are aged between 20 and 35, who have completed at least two years of higher education in modern languages by the time they take up their post and who have a working knowledge in the French language. All eligible students will be entitled to a stipend.

The assistantship is a unique opportunity and a valuable life experience. As well as improving their language skills and confidence in speaking, gaining in-depth knowledge of French life and culture, a year abroad can also boost student future employability.
