Franco-Irish Literary Festival 
25 & 26 April 2015
The Franco-Irish Literary Festival gears up for its 16th edition focusing this year on the very popular genre of Crime Fiction – Scéalta blachtaireachta – Polar! From the early works of Edgar Allan Poe in the 19th century to the recent TV series “The Fall”, by way of the French literary collection “Le Masque” launched in 1927, crime fiction has always moved with the times, and today, in its many different forms, its reach extends across all layer of society.
Over 2 days, 14 French & Irish writers will offer their views on this theme through panel discussions. A special poetry performance and book sales will also take place. While the Friday is completely dedicated to a special Education
Programme where writers will meet students in schools in order to promote literature amongst the younger generation.
 
The Franco-Irish Literary Festival is jointly organised by the Alliance Française Dublin and the French Embassy in Ireland with the support of many private and public sponsors.

"AD Collections" Exhibition at Quai d’Orsay
26 March - 5 April 2015
The Palace of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development will host the AD Collections "Exceptional furniture and decorative arts of the 21st century" exhibition from 26 March to 5 April 2015.
 
The decorative arts are a French speciality. The magazine AD has long been very involved in promoting them through its AD Intérieurs event.
The AD Collections exhibition is dedicated to high-quality objects and furniture made of noble materials and produced in small numbers. This exhibition takes place from 26 March to 5 April 2015 in the Palace of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development. Whether they are craftspeople, decorators or designers working for major luxury houses, the 50 talents selected will each present three new, significant pieces from their range. That means 150 creations will be 
available for visitors to discover in a scenography developed by Studio Adrien Gardère. The exhibition is 
produced with the support of the bank Neuflize OBC.

Continuing professional development for French teachers
30 March - 4 April 2015
Lifelong learning and training are key elements in the development of teaching practices especially with the innovation of new technologies. It has now naturally become essential for teachers to enhance their teaching methods and approaches.
The second training session will take place in Dublin, Cork and Limerick from 30th March to 4th April 2015.

Registration for the second training session will be launched mid March.

Become an English Language Assistant in France!

This scheme is aimed at students who are aged between 20 and 35, who have completed at least two years of higher education from any discipline by the time they take up their post and who have a working knowledge of the French language. All eligible students will be entitled to a monthly stipend.
 
The assistantship is a unique opportunity and a valuable life experience. As well as improving your language skills, gaining in-depth knowledge of French life and culture, a year abroad can also boost your future employability.
