EVA International: Ireland’s Biennial of Contemporary Art
Limerick City of Culture

Until 6 July 2014
EVA International 2014 curated by Bassam El Baroni is titled AGITATIONISM and features works by 56 Irish and international artists, selected from over 2000 proposals by artists in 96 countries.

The participation of French artists
Jacqueline Doyen and Cécile Hartmann is supported by the French Embassy in Ireland.

EVA International 2014 is part of
Limerick City of Culture celebrations. The 36th edition of EVA International will be reflective of the many complex questions that the current heightened global socio-political moment raises.
Jacqueline Doyen’s Model 3107 is an installation that will be activated with live performances over the EVA 2014 opening weekend. Doyen´s multifaceted practice questions the representation of the body, its poses and its language, as well as the position of the viewer within the exhibition space.
For EVA 2014 Cécile Hartmann presents Kessoku, a film realized in 2006 in Japan. Kessoku (the contract) connects the strategic spaces of the economic globalization to the unstable zones of volcanic craters.
