The above photograph is from a performance I did this August at the UN.  Yes, that's me, painted half blue (thanks, Abby Walsh!), standing in dirt in the UN Trusteeship Council.  Um, sometimes my jobs are... totally awesome.

Other Exciting News:
"Thou Wast Mild and Lovely" won Best Narrative Feature at Dallas Video Fest

We got some INCREDIBLE press at the London Film Festival, where both films played:

Little White Lies: "Top 20 Things We Learned at the London Film Festival"
"7. Josephine Decker — remember the name"

Sound on Sight
Thou Wast Mild and Lovely is "one of the strongest, most striking American Gothic works of recent memory"

Women and Hollywood: Indiewire Interview
What was the biggest challenge in making the films?
"
Making a movie is such a large-scale, intense operation that imagining that you "deserve" to be making it is -- well, complex."

Global Comment:
Josephine Decker’s movie could easily sit on the shoulder of “There Will Be Blood.”

Also a beautiful write-up through Experimental Conversations:
"Butter on the Latch" features "fantastic naturalistic performances"

Above photo taken at Onur Tukel's opening of Summer of Blood -- featuring the three of us filmmakers who will have our screenings this fall at IFP Media Center!  Buy Onur's film on Amazon now, and check out Madeleine Olnek's film The Foxy Merkins at IFP this December!

One of my favorite film festivals in the country, Cucalorus Film Festival in Wilmington, North Carolina, celebrates its 20th Anniversary this November.  They have wildly unique magical realist film programming and dance in their festival!  Seriously -- it's very very very fun.
Move, sing, make, be.
They'll screen Mild and Lovely
Thursday November 13th, 10:15 pm

A visit to IU Cinema this fall prompted digging in the dirt to find the film.
Thank you, Russell Sheaffer and Jon Vickers, for facilitating this fascinating program!

We buried Jon's old film reels and discovered..... a whole new world.  More awesome photos by Eric Rudd Photography on my facebook here.
