Getting to know Flow consignment artist Pamela Winkler
" I enjoy revealing the beauty in everyday objects. I explore the form and texture of both shiny new and aging objects, often coming in for a close-up view. Dramatic lighting brings depth to the objects and a theatrical sense often at odds with the common nature of the subject. "
Pamela Winkler graduated from Miami University (of Ohio) with a BA in Art History and a Masters of Architecture and subsequently worked as a licensed architect in both Ohio and North Carolina. In 2009 she took a course in pastels and discovered a new passion which led her to painting full time in her studio in Marshall, NC. In 2011 she received the 2nd Place award in both "The American Still Life Exhibit " at The Bascom, Highland, NC and the Appalachian Pastel Society juried exhibition, Black Mountain, NC. Again in 2011 she received the People's Choice Award in the exhibition "ViewPoint 2011", Cincinnati Art Club, Cincinnati, OH. In both 2011 and 2012 her paintings were accepted into the International Association of Pastel Societies Juried Web Exhibits. 2012 also brought an award from the Pastel Society of North Carolina 2012 Statewide Juried Exhibit, Raleigh, NC and an accepted entry in the APS National Juried Exhibition, Asheville, NC.
