Eric Eickmann Artist STATEMENT
The chaotic nature of experience somehow can be seen as ordinary life. The randomness of molecules and energy whizzing about appear to be solid objects with purpose and meaning.
The joke of being a creator plays out and the drama of human life unfolds. Art making walks the fine line between “look at me, I'm special” and “the non-locatable creative flow”.
Eric studied painting and sculpture at Goddard College from which he graduated in 2000.
He currently lives in Burlington in a studio on the waterfront of Lake Champlain.
Eric has been painting for twelve years in Burlington. His work has been shown in numerous
galleries locally as well as abroad.
Highly acclaimed underground soul/blues duo Dwight & Nicole (Dwight Ritcher and Nicole Nelson) have been charming music fans and critics for years with their profound blend of American music. Equal parts 60’s soul, 40’s jazz, and Delta blues, Dwight & Nicole provide a brand new classic sound that is the embodiment of popular American music.
Performing Live at Speaking Volumes in correlation with Eric Eickmann's Opening Reception. Ritcher, a multi-instrumentalist, tastefully plays a Gibson Flying V guitar at most shows, running bass lines and finger-picking.
