New watercolour exhibition at Talapi Gallery

Alice Springs 17th May- 28th June

This Friday 17th May, Talapi Gallery in the Todd Mall in Alice Springs kicks off its latest exhibition, showcasing the latest works from Johannes Katakarinja, Mervyn Rubuntja and Gloria Pannka with a range of other central desert artists on show also. The exhibition runs until the 28th June.

New Youth Watercolour Mentoring Program

With our Art Development Project Officer

Last month Shannon Huber joined the art centre team as the Art Development Project Officer, and one of the first jobs off the bat for her will be starting up a Youth Mentoring Program for young people from Ntaria interested in learning the art of watercolour painting, Namatjria style. Led by the Namatjira watercolour artists, weekly workshops will be held in the months of June and July 2013 as a way of fostering this tradition and passing on these specific knowledge and skills to Western Arrente youth.
