                          CONGRATULATIONS HUBERT!
We are all still buzzing from Hubert Pareroultja WINNING this year's Wynne Prize with his spectacular masterpiece titled: 'Tjoritja (West MacDonnell Ranges, NT)'.

Since Albert Namatjira established the Hermannsburg School of Art his descendants have been carrying on this tradition for generations! Hubert's hard work and dedication to his craft has paid. He is over the moon that the public are now, once again, recognising the art of watercolour landscape painting.

'My family believe giant caterpillars called the Yeperenye became Tjoritja (West MacDonnell Ranges in the distant past). The giant caterpillars entered through gaps in the ranges. In this painting the trees are a symbol for caterpillars coming through to the Country, and they travelled from Mount Zeil past Mparntwe (Alice Springs) to Emily Gap.' - Hubert Pareroultja

If you are in Sydney, be sure to see the work on display with all of the finalists in the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prize exhibition, and stay tuned for Hubert's solo exhibition coming up in 2021 at Sydney's Nanda Hobbs Gallery...

Working Together with Strong Thoughts

Adelaide! We will exhibit at the Migration Museum between 5 December 2020 to 28 February 2021. This exhibition will present works from current and previous practicing artists of Iltja Ntjarra Art Centre.

The exhibiting artists sustain an important piece of living history, but also develop their art practice by integrating new influences. Two major works in the show are the outcome of a recent collaboration between Western Aranda artists, Vanessa Inkamala, 2020 Wynne Prize winner Hubert Pareroultja, and Shannon Alexander Murphy, an Australian Artist currently based in Berlin.
To launch this event the Migration Museum will be projecting our online masterclass on site on December 8 to a limited number of 12 participants only. Be quick to purchase your ticket here. Once you purchased, Iltja Ntjarra will send your 'follow along supply kit', containing everything you will need to participate and create your own stunning landscape painting!
