Thankfully Spring will soon be upon us.

The Bureau of Metrologoy is predicting a neutral rainfall outlook for most of Australia, though drier conditions are favoured in the tropics and far southeast, with a wetter-than-average season more likely in the west. Warmer nights are very likely for most of Australia, along with warmer days for much of the east and the southern coastline this spring.

We are receiving information from the field that long term severe and serious rain fall deficiencies are being experienced in Victoria and parts of Queensland, which is causing difficulties in managing road assets, particularly the unsealed road network. We encourage local government asset managers to review the important study completed with DOTARS funding in 2010 on unsealed pavements to see ways that stabilisation can assist with unsealed pavement asset management.
