In June 2015, AustStab:

  • Opened the registrations for the Annual Conference,
  • Attended the Austroads Pavement Reference Group meeting,
  • Presented at the Roads and Maritime Services Workshop in Roma,
  • Judged the 2015 Awards of Excellence in
  • Presented training in Horsham with CPEE
  • Held the Bitumen Working Group meeting
  • Attended the IPWEA Annual tradeshow Civinex NSW
  • Delivered training in Roma with CPEE
  • We continued to deliver on the pillars of the association.

  • 12 - 13 August 2015 - Training course with CPEE in Perth

With the wet winter month's upon us in the Southern States, I remind consultants and practitioners of the benefits of lime subgrade stabilisation to dry out wet grades and provide all weather working platforms. If the lime demand test requirements are achieved a permanent reaction is attained. There are potentially other benefits achieved by lime stabilising subgrades, including increasing the waterproofness of the base and increasing the CBR of the subgrade.

AustStab 4th Annual Gala Dinner and Awards of Excellence
 

 Registrations for the conference close on Friday 26th June 2015. Registrations must be completed this week.

The conference is open to member delegates, and others by approval of the AustStab Council.

The conference this year will be hosted at the Yarra Valley Lodge Chirnside Vic.

Guest speakers for the conference will include ARRB's Richard Yeo and Michael Moffatt on topics including the TIPES program and research and development funded by Austroads in stabilisation, as well as VicRoad's Simon Renton speaking of Carbon Gauge and the latest developments, as well as others.

The AustStab Pavement Recycling and Stabilisation Guide 2015 edition will be officially released at the Conference. The Strategic Plan will also be released.

AustStab will continue to provide the regular contribution to the Roads and Civil Works Australia magazine, including the AustStab President's Report and Chief Executive Officer's Report.

AustStab will continue to provide contributions to other publications such as Highway Engineering Australia or other publications, as we may find appropriate.
