Welcome to the 13th edition AustStab newsletter - eStab.
In May 2013 at AustStab:
The 2nd annual awards were opened for nominations;
We continued our review for current new member applications;
We continued the ongoing review on our Technical Notes;
We opened the registrations for the 2013 Conference on the Gold Coast - Stabilising the Future;
We continued working with ARRB on accrediting contractors in accordance with our accreditation scheme;
Continued to work on the association pillars of education, research, promotion and setting standards.
Awards of Excellence 2013
In 2013 AustStab will celebrate the 2nd Award for Excellence. Four categories for recognition will be open for award:
1. Work Health and Safety;
2. Excellence in Research or Education;
3. Excellence in Sustainability in Pavement Stabilisation; and
4. Excellence in Stabilisation in Local Government.
Award nominations are currently being receive for projects completed, or 80% complete. Entry should be submitted online via the website no later than 15 July 2013. The winners will be announced in a Gala Dinner at the AustStab AGM on the Gold Coast on 13 August 2013.

Member Profile - Wagners
Wagners are a construction material supplier member with AustStab.
Wagners is one of Queensland's largest privately-owned construction materials and mining services companies. They strive for intrepid progress to achieve beneficial outcomes.
They are suppliers of cementitious binders and have recently moved into supply of hydrated lime. In 2011 they received the Premier's ClimateSmart Sustainability Award for the development of a new low emission concrete, Earth Friendly Concrete (EFC), which is created from industrial waste by-products.
2013 AustStab Conference - Stabilising the Future
Each year AustStab members join together at the annual conference. The location of the conference changes each year as we are a national association with members located in all states and territories of Australia. This year's conference will be hosted on the Gold Coast, Queensland on 12 - 14 August 2013.
The conference allows members the opportunity to network, obtain a national perspective of happenings affecting the Industry, reflect on the successes of the previous 12 months and set the agenda for the association for the future.
The agenda for meetings will be finalised shortly. Please keep checking back on the website for more information regularly.
