When Confrontation is Necessary

Confrontation is a word that generates anxiety for most people because we associate it with conflict. And sometimes it does involve conflict, but the most basic definition in Merriam Webster’s dictionary is “a face-to-face meeting.” Confrontation is not a bad thing when done with a right heart and proper motive.

As Christians, confrontation is necessary at times as we seek to build one another up, to spur one another on to good works, and at times, to pull a brother or sister in Christ “out of the fire.”

Read Chuck Lawless’ article, 11 STEPS TO CONFRONT WHEN YOU DON’T LIKE CONFRONTATION, for biblical and practical actions to take when confrontation is necessary.
Deuteronomy 31:6

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Whenever God sends us out on a mission, He promises that He will be with us. In the sovereignty of God, you have been placed precisely in the position to accomplish a specific mission God has for you. No matter how overwhelming that may be at times, never forget that what He has sent you to, He will be the one to sustain you through it. There are many times when we can feel alone in the fight, but we never are. Who are you relying on today? I pray these songs minister to you today and on Sunday when we worship together.

Preschool Classes: Our Preschool Sunday attendance is continuing to increase! As we begin to split up classes in the preschool department, we are praying for volunteers who would be willing to share the love of Jesus with these boys and girls on a monthly or weekly basis – please see Stephanie Hambrick if you would be interested in helping out!

Coffee Center: Our Coffee Center is getting a lot of attention these days! We could us a few more hands to make and serve the coffee at both or one of the services! This is a wonderful opportunity to not only serve but get to know your church family. Contact Debbie Dunham to help in this ministry, debi5529@yahoo.com!

As believers we all struggle with doubts from time to time, and that’s especially true for our kids as they get older. This article gives some helpful things to think about as we face doubts in our spiritual life, and will equip you as you walk with your kids through the doubts they express. Give it a read and pass it on to someone that it might help. Let me know if I can help you or your family with anything! — Pastor Jonathan

Happy Thursday GraceLife Family!

Last night we concluded the 2020-2021 Awana year with a celebration night for our boys and girls.  This year we had an average attendance of 78 clubbers each week. There were 68 students who completed a handbook (some completed more than 1 book) along with 3 leaders completing books for a total of 80 books that were completed this year. While we don’t focus exclusively on numbers, each number represents someone who has taken the time this year to learn God’s Word. We pray that God will use these verses in their lives in the years ahead. I want to take a minute to thank you parents for the role that you play in the spiritual development of your children. We know it is not easy! Don’t give up! God will help one day at a time! Our next Awana year will begin on August 25 with our carnival. In the meantime, I hope to see our boys and girls at church! This Sunday we will be talking about how God has a great plan for their lives in children’s worship! — Pastor Dave
