A regular date for LCEO meetings

LCEO meetings are now going to be on the first Tuesday of each month, 8pm to 8.45pm.  If you're interested in coming along then you can put the dates into your calendar and then look out for the zoom link in each newsletter.  We'd love to see you!

The next meeting will be 8pm Tuesday 6th April, and here's the zoom link:

We are a small and friendly group, and we welcome all comers!  During meetings we come up with ideas to help east Oxford residents make small but effective carbon-lowering changes to their lifestyle, and figure out how to make the projects happen.  Even if you don't have much time or energy to spare just now, you might enjoy coming along to listen in and enjoy the company of like-minded local people and the feeling of solidarity in our low-carbon ambitions!

What we're working on just now

Our next exciting project will be to offer monthly tips on how to lower energy use in the home.  Starting soon, we'll be including a how-to guide to an easy, cheap, energy-saving activity in each newsletter.  We've got some great installments planned already, but if there's something you'd really like us to include then send us an email to comms@lceo.org.uk, or join our next meeting and tell us about it!

In other news...

Beyond our own work at Low Carbon East Oxford, here's what's happening in Oxford's low carbon community:

  • Oxfordshire COP26 Climate Action Day: Saturday 27th March. OxFoE are working with COP26 Alliance partners to run a range of talks, discussions and workshops. Catch up on what will happen at the COP and why it matters, and hear from many of the excellent campaigns and projects going on across the county.

  • Don't forget Co-Wheels car club, which has two electric vehicles in the area.

  • The Go Ultra Low Oxford project has a demand tracker where residents can nominate their street to be considered for on-street residential EV charging. How about nominating your street? https://www.goultralowoxford.org/homepage/18/register_your_interest_in_on-street_charging

That's it for now!

That's it for this month's newsletter. If you'd like to see something included in next month's newsletter or have an idea for a campaign we could run in east Oxford, send us an email to comms@lceo.org.uk - we'd love to hear from you.

Best wishes,
The Low Carbon East Oxford Team
