The China Arts Fellowship (CAF) is a unique program for creative thinkers with an interest in world arts and cultures and the desire to facilitate meaningful engagement on the global stage.
The CAF program provides recent college graduates from around the world the opportunity to spend six months in Shanghai learning Mandarin at Shanghai Jiao Tong University--one of China's premiere universities--and gain professional experience through an internship at a Shanghai cultural or educational institution or media outlet. Fellows will also conduct research on a chosen topic and collaborate to present their work at a culminating symposium.
A partnership between the Confucius Institutes at UCLA and Saint Petersburg State University (Russia) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the China Arts Fellowship provides housing, tuition, a living stipend, medical insurance, and the opportunity for guided travel in China. Participants are responsible for international airfare and the cost of their China visa(s).
