July 4 Run/Walk

Along with everything else, this annual event is different this year — but it is still happening!

MOUNTAIN RUNNERS is taking this annual event online: through a downloadable app, we can join everyone else on their walk/runs — indoors or out — from anywhere in the world on July 4th. It's a “make-your-own-course” kind of thing.

The registration fee for the event is $28/person.

Register for July Virtual Run/Walk

  • Commemorative 4th of July Walk/Run t-shirt (see below)
  • Downloadable certificate of completion
  • Drawing entry to win a Giant gravel bike and Yeti cooler grand prize package*
  • An app that will automatically upload your time to the event results page

* Thanks to The Fifth Season and Ramshaw’s ACE Hardware, respectively, for this fantastic grand prize package.

If you registered before June 8, your t-shirt will be delivered by July 2nd so you can wear it on your walk or run. If you registered on June 8 and later, your t-shirt will arrive after July 4.

Because this is a virtual event, individual walk/run courses will vary, so Mountain Runners will not provide prizes for the fastest times.

Mountain Runners encourages you to share pictures and stories on their Facebook page.

Benefits to MSMAP

Mountain Runners is excited to donate proceeds from this year's Run/Walk to some of Siskiyou County's finest youth organizations and sports teams — including MSMAP! All these groups exemplify a spirit of community service, leadership, and teamwork.

Mountain Runners shares the stories of each group in their latest newsletter, 2020 YOUTH ORGANIZATION & SPORTS TEAM HIGHLIGHTS:

Donate to MSMAP

If participating in the Virtual Run/Walk isn't your thing, you can also get a donation to MSMAP at any time through PayPal or GuideStar using your phone, tablet, or desktop. During this time of re-openings (or not), wearing masks, and social distancing, donations to MSMAP have completely dried up. We still have bills to pay and require financial support adapting to this new world and fully transitioning to our COVID-FREE virtual studio.

NOTE: Depending on your particular situation, your donation may be tax-deductible (check with your tax advisor for details).

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, MSMAP relies on gifts like this from the community to continue offering year-round, dynamic, healthy activities. And, in going forward in this era of COVID-19 and ongoing Social Distancing, MSMAP still requires help in transitioning to its online studio.

And, we can guarantee that our online studio is 100% COVID-FREE!

MSMAP earned the 2020 PLATINUM SEAL OF TRANSPARENCY from GuideStar, the world's largest source of information on nonprofit organizations! Donate with confidence using PayPal, GuideStar, and even AmazonSmile.
