It is really incredible to watch Al paint...and equally absorbing, is his ability to describe the passion he feels about being in the scene, or philosophically how the scene supports a belief or an insight!
And with all of that in mind, we had a great show at the Frenchtown Inn at the end of January. We talked until our jaws ached and met with some really interesting and illuminating folks!! The show was only a few hours long but we had about 100 guests in the space that afternoon, come in and explore the artwork and enjoy the culinary delights of the Inn!
Our next show with the Frenchtown Inn will be April 7th !! Please join us!
But Up NEXT is our special annual show with PANDO FINE ART in PARK CITY, UTAH!!
Friday-Sun 2/22-24 so after your days on the slopes, come and browse art while sipping coco (or other) down at one of Main Streets finest galleries! Al will have his largest original oil to date, on exhibit, along with other fine oils and some of the new gorgeous Alla Prima originals and of course an extensive selection of Limited and Collectors Edition Prints.
We will be chatting with guests and talking art, life and more! And I PROMISE I will take some pictures. I'm terrible at remembering to do that!
I am nominated for an award by One World Music Radio!! OWMR is a large world wide broadcasting station, that has done much for my career and those of fellow artists, helping to spread our music for the betterment of all listeners!! I'm also awaiting news of two other possible nominations with ZMR (Zone Music Reporter) for which I have qualified for consideration. Album of the Year and Best Piano w/Instrumentation categories. I'll keep you posted!
My "REQUIEM for a Common Man" is closing in further on the final score. I have learnt so much about the discipline and art of scoring a serious classical-sacred work: attention to minute detail while thinking about the broader context, overall emotional impact, and ease of interpretation for the musicians! It's not easy.
Soon we will be shopping around for the best option for recording this work...two possible dream options are:
St. John The Divine Church, NYC.
Prague Philharmonic ( In Recording Studio)
On top of both businesses, I'm taking a music marketing course. I'm happy to report, much of the initial lesson work I'm already doing in my day to day career management, but I'm stepping into some new territory with specifics on music budget and fundraising which is the least fun but most necessary aspect of an artist's work.
The life of the independent artist (painter or musician, dancer or actor) is never without a dull moment...it has peaks and troughs, feasts and famines but a true artist, doesn't have a choice. They have to do it, they live for it and they mostly do it for others to experience and enjoy.
Please spread the word about our work. Follow me on Spotify if you listen on that site. Here is the link!
