Welcome to Issue 2 of 2013 of A&SoF. We trust that all of our readers are having a successful and profitable year.

A&SoF is an e-newsletter, managed by BHS, with its sole purpose to enhance the filtration knowledge of the marketplace to solve actual plant problems.

This newsletter will have a focus on innovation, collaboration and expansion. In two recent articles from DuPont Performance Polymers and the Wall Street Journal, innovation and collaboration have been center-stage. These are profiled below in conjunction with how BHS addresses innovation and collaboration with our clients.

Following these abstracts, A&SoF announces the expansion of BHS. BHS has invested and purchased a 14,000 ft2 building for its three divisions of filtration, mixing and recycling…more on this later.

I hope that you find A&SoF useful and informative. Your comments, ideas and suggestions for future issues are very appreciated. You can now follow A&SoF on Facebook, please visit our page. Featured Problem Solving Technical Articles

First, Rene Garza, Global Marketing Manager for DuPont Performance Polymers discusses market driven innovation and collaboration to help customers find the best possible solutions for their engineering projects. You can read his article in Engineering Design.

In a second article in the Wall Street Journal, authors Drew Boyd and Jacob Goldenberg discuss five techniques that can be used to create new-to-the-world ideas; these include subtraction, task unification, multiplication, division and attribute dependency. The article was adapted from “Inside the Box: A Proven System of Creativity for Breakthrough Results,” which has just been published by Simon & Schuster.

BHS strives for innovation and collaboration with our clients. The presentation at the AICHE Process Development Symposium highlighted a case history from lab testing to installation and guarantees. See the full presentation. As always, please visit our website or contact us directly for testing and to discuss how we can collaborate on your innovative processes.

New Facility

The expansion for the three BHS divisions combines sales, engineering, lab testing, pilot machines, spare parts and assembly operations into one location.

  • Filtration Division: This our readers know very well.
  • Mixing Division: Batch and continuous mixers for the ready mix, precast, prestress and mining industries.
  • Recycling Division: The size-reduction technologies are used for e-scrap, slag, aluminum and automotive residual shredding.

If you are in the area, please stop by and celebrate with us. Thanks!
