Goodbye from Rasmus!

OBESSU’s Secretary General Rasmus will leave OBESSU after working here for 2.5 years. He will be replaced by Ela Jakubek, who will introduce herself in an article early next week. But right now, we have a few questions for Rasmus before he leaves us.

Planning the upcoming Convention on Education and Work

OBESSU is getting ready for the upcoming Convention on Education and Work that is foreseen in the OBESSU Workplan 2015-2017 to critically explore the links between education and the labour market. This week the preparatory team meeting held its first meeting in Brussels, Belgium to shape the final programme.

Do you dare to interfere? Take action against bullying!

Estonian School Student Councils’ Union (ESCU), together with Estonian Union for Child Welfare, is planning to launch a national campaign in March 2016 to promote tolerance in schools called The Tolerant School.

Call for participants to the Study Session “Bringing Human Rights Education to School”

We are very glad to inform you that the Call for Participants to the OBESSU Study Session “Bringing Human Rights Education to School” is now open! The Study Session will take place in the European Youth Centre of the Council of Europe in Budapest, from the 24th April to the 1st May 2016 (including travel days) and aims at increasing the knowledge and awareness of Human Rights in schools and at exploring the role of school student unions in developing human rights education and education for democratic citizenship in schools. Call for participants to the Convention on Education and Work

We are very happy to inform you that the call for participants to the next OBESSU big event, the Convention on Education and Work is now open! The Convention will take place in Brussels, Belgium from the 23rd to the 29th May 2016 (including travel days) and aims at critically explore the relation between education and the labour market, and to make young people’s voices heard on this topic. OBESSU – The Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions is the platform for cooperation between the national school student unions active in general secondary and secondary vocational education in Europe. It was founded in April 1975 in Dublin, Ireland and brings together Member, Candidate and Affiliate Organisations from around 20 European countries. All Member Organisations are independent, national, representative and democratic school student organisations.
