Training Course for International Officers – TCIO 2015

00The 2015 edition of TCIO took place in Brussels. 45 participants from OBESSU Member, Candidate and Affiliate Organisations met for a full week of learning, sharing and discovering the international work and OBESSU organisations in the capital of Europe.

Working Group on Vocational Education and Training

final WG VETIn 2012 and 2013 OBESSU had a Working Group (WG) on Vocational Education and Training (VET). The WG did several different things, most important of which was the organisation of the Claim your Voice campaign. In this campaign, OBESSU raised awareness of the topic and promoted OBESSU’s opinion on the topic: that VET should be seen as a respectable alternative to academic education and that students following a VET path should also be represented and organised in school student unions. EU Youth Conference in Luxembourg

Youth ConferenceDuring four days in Luxembourg, youth delegates together with decision-makers came together for the EU Youth Conference as a part of the Structured Dialogue on Youth. This conference was the last of the three during the cycle, thus concluding the trio-Presidency of Italy, Latvia and Luxembourg. Read more >>>

UNSS summer training

UNSS 4While most of the Serbian school students were enjoining the last summer days before the start of the school, members of the Union of Secondary School Students of Serbia (UNSS) met for a training focusing on how to write and submit project applications. The training took place from the 23rd to the 29th of August in Bečej, Serbia and gathered 28 UNSS members. Read more >>>

OBESSU welcomes European Parliament report

On the 9th of September the European Parliament approved a resolution on “Empowering girls through education in the EU”, also called the Rodrigues report. The Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions (OBESSU) welcomes this report, which is a step forward towards the inclusion and the recognition of a strong gender imbalance in the education and labour field. OBESSU – The Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions is the platform for cooperation between the national school student unions active in general secondary and secondary vocational education in Europe. It was founded in April 1975 in Dublin, Ireland and brings together Member, Candidate and Affiliate Organisations from around 20 European countries. All Member Organisations are independent, national, representative and democratic school student organisations.
