Australia Day Award nominations are now open and close this Tuesday 1 December. See the flier below for more information. The nomination form can be found on Council's website.

Residents are reminded that the second rates installment is due this Monday 30 November 2020. Payment can be made at the Warracknabeal and Hopetoun Offices, at any Australia Post Office, via Australia POSTbillpay or by BPAY. Change of property ownership? To ensure that Council records remain accurate and comply with legislation, any change of ownership of a property through sale or transfer must be notified in writing to the Council’s Revenue Coordinator.

Our youth program has been very busy with the lifting of restrictions. Youth Impact Officer Justin and 10 Yarriambiack young people have been participating in the six week Thoroughbred HERO pilot program with Jess Liston. This program is designed to support 15-25 years old people and strengthen their psychological capital through the power of horses.

Extreme heat can affect anybody. Those most at risk are older people, young children and people with a medical condition. Survive the heat this summer with these five simple tips:

Drink plenty of water
Never leave anyone in a car
Stay somewhere cool
Plan ahead
Check in on others

Rates can either be paid in full by 15th February each year or by 4 quarterly installments – 30 September, 30 November, 28 February, and 31 May.
