Tell major clothing companies to follow the example of Primark and C&A!
Three weeks ago I wrote to ask for your support to help pressure 21 companies to make public donations to support the victims of last years's catastrophic Bangladesh building collapse in which over 1,000 workers died.
Today, that list is shorter by two.
Two of the companies we named -- Primark and C&A -- have announced donations of US $1,000,000 and Euros 500,000 respectively to the Rana Plaza Trust Fund.
They have joined 12 other major companies in making public donations to the families of victims of this disaster.
Working together with IndustriALL and UNI global unions and the Clean Clothes Campaign, our pressure has had an effect.
But there are still 19 major companies which have a moral responsibility to pay into the Rana Plaza Trust Fund and which have not yet done so.
These include such household names as Benetton, Carrefour, Matalan and Walmart.
If you have not yet done so, please send your message to those companies today -- go here:
If you have already supported this campaign, please go that page and spread the word using links which you'll see on the right side of the page. These allow you to spread the word on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn
Please make sure that your friends, family and fellow union members sign up too -- share this link with them:
Thanks very much!
