Chamber Picks New Executive Director

Dear Tuscarora Area Chamber of Commerce Members,

If you were not aware, Mary-Anne Gordon has left her post as our executive director, and has moved on to an opportunity in Philadelphia. Mary-Anne was a colleague, and mentor and I wish her the best in her future endeavors. In her nine years as the chamber director, she has grown the organization tremendously. I know that I have big shoes to fill. I extend my thanks to our board of directors, for their support and confidence in me.
I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve your needs, and I look forward to promoting the Tuscarora region. We are fortunate to live in such a vibrant, community-spirited area, and we are primed for growth. The business community is the key component to keeping this region prosperous.
Here is a bit of background on me: I am a life-long resident of Mercersburg, and a James Buchanan High School graduate. I hold a bachelors degree in public administration from Shippensburg University, and was a graduate of Leadership Franklin County in 2012. Since the young age of ten, I have been involved volunteering with local nonprofits; including, area chambers of commerce. I believe in the mission of our chamber, and I believe in our members.
I am currently involved with several non-profit organizations across the county, and also serve as the board treasurer of the Tuscarora School District.
Friends of mine have given me a few nicknames over the years (some that I probably shouldn't repeat); but, one that is very fitting to me and this position is "Mr. Tuscarora". Over the years, I have invested a lot of time and energy into this region, and I am excited to work full-time for our membership in continuing to enhance the Tuscarora region.
These first few days have been very busy, but in the coming weeks I will be making my way around the area, introducing myself to those members whom I do not know. I am here to serve the chamber and our members, so please do not hesitate to contact me if there is anything that we can assist with.

Annual Chamber Breakfast
Invitations will be sent out shortly for our annual breakfast. Mike Ross, President of the Franklin County Area Development Corporation will be our keynote speaker. Our legislators will also have an opportunity to address attendees. This is a great opportunity to network with fellow business and community leaders, and to meet the new executive director.

Where: Whitetail Golf Resort
Time: 7:15am

The Herald Mail headline says it all, "Mercersburg Beer & Fine Festival Fantastic". Thanks to the many volunteers and sponsors who made it possible. We had close to 1,200 attendees for the festival, and the weather could not have been better. Fix JB Sports will receive a portion of the funds raised. We look forward to next year's event.

The Mercersburg Townfest was also a great success. We sold out of vendor spaces, and saw a spectacular crowd.
