Edmonton Beer Geeks Anonymous - Real Ale Festival 2014

Alberta's original dedicated cask conditioned ale festival continues this year on 6 September 2014.

This beer festival is like no other in Alberta - you'll find only naturally conditioned cask ales that are as unique as the brewer that prepared it.

EBGA Real Ale Festival is an event centered around the creative minds of brewers and celebrating their ability to produce naturally conditioned ales that both take inspiration from tradition, and creative contemporary brewing practices.

This year's EBGA Real Ale Festival will be held at Ritchie Community League Hall in Edmonton on 6 September 2014 from 1pm - 10pm.

EBGA Real Ale Festival is proud to be partnering with 12 breweries from across Western Canada and a couple of local food vendors as well.

EBGA On Rails

The summers' EBGA events are set to kick-off this coming Wednesday, 28 May, 2014 with the first of five EBGA On Rails events.

Note:  ALL EBGA On Rails events depart at 7pm sharp from the streetcar barn located at the North side of the Old Strathcona Farmer's Market building (10310 83 Ave).

A favourite series of events from the past is returning this year.  The Edmonton Radial Railway Society operates and maintains a small fleet of antique streetcars from around the world.  EBGA charters these streetcars to host beer tastings and seminars.  The streetcars board at the North side of the Strathcona Farmers Market Building, then travel to the middle of the High Level bridge, 150ft above the North Saskatchewan river.  There, parked in the middle of the bridge, aboard a restored antique streetcar is where the EBGA is hosting five beer tastings this year.

There are five opportunities to join us this year as we enjoy the scenic Edmonton river valley and local craft beer.  All tickets for EBGA On Rails events are $20 and include the admission aboard the streetcar, and two (12oz) pours of the given local craft beer of the charter.

The journey begins and ends at the Old Strathcona Streetcar Barn (10310 83 ave).  All EBGA On Rails events are an hour and a half in duration, giving people time to interact with the brewer or beer representative aboard the streetcar.  Each trip will include a historical recount of streetcars in Edmonton, and a brief seminar with the brewer.

Those that join us for three of the five EBGA On Rails events will be entered into a draw to win two tickets to EBGA Real Ale Festival.
