EBGA Real Ale Festival 2015
Finally announcing that tickets for our very fourth annual, and Alberta's original dedicated cask conditioned ale festival are now for sale!
EBGA Real Ale Festival
is a day-long event featuring naturally cask conditioned ales created specifically at breweries across Western Canada!
This is EBGA's largest event of the calendar year - it also marks and celebrates the birthday of the EBGA! It's hard to believe we've been at this for nearly five years already!
One big change to this year's event - in attempt to accommodate all of you beer geek patrons - is our decision to move EBGA Real Ale Festival
outdoors! The venue this year is still the Ritchie Community League, but instead of being inside the hall, we will host EBGA Real Ale Festival
outside in the hockey rink!
Further details and tickets to EBGA Real Ale Festival
are available here
Don't miss out!
Thanks to all the patrons, breweries, and generally amazing people that help put this event together!
If you want to be a part of this event as a volunteer, please send us a message using the contact form on our website.
Volunteers must have valid ProServe and will be well-rewarded for their service!
Urban Craft Beer & Food Festival
From Sherbrooke Liquor's website:
It's that time again! We are excited and proud to once again be presenting the Urban Beer Festival for Craft Beer Enthusiasts:
The 3rd annual Urban Craft Beer & Food Festival in support of the Urban Spirits Rotary Club
$25 gets you in the door and a free drink to boot (but you don't have to drink from a boot). Additional sample tickets are $1 each.
In addition to some of the new and exciting breweries and beers that have been filling (and disappearing) from our shelves over the last year, the spotlight will also shine on the hottest spirit these days, both in cocktails and an inspiration to creative Brewmasters: BOURBON!!
There will be food trucks, music, and even some games that will test your beer knowledge and win you some bragging rights among your friends.
This event always sells out quick so make sure you get your tickets sooner rather than later.
When: Friday, July 3, 2015
6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Alberta Aviation Museum
EBGA will be exhibiting at the Urban Craft Beer & Food Festival tomorrow!
Visit the Sherbrooke Liquor website
for more information and to purchase tickets.
Happy 20th Alley Kat!
It's time to recognize a very prominent institution in the Alberta craft beer industry - Alley Kat Brewing Company. 2015 marks their 20th year in business. From what we can tell, it's been a pretty amazing 20 years.
EBGA extends great admiration, respect, and congratulations to the team behind Alley Kat Brewing for their continued success. For without pioneers such as Neil and Lavonne the likes of EBGA and other industry stakeholders may not have come about.
Alley Kat is a big supporter of local craft beer and is probably one of the easiest breweries to work with when we seek to put together special events.
Not being a fancy wordsmith, I'll leave it here... Congratulations, and all the very best in the next 20 years!
EBGA On Rails - A Summer Streetcar Craft Beer Series
Four years running and still as popular as ever! Thanks to all who have waited so (im)patiently for this series to be officially announced!
This summer Edmonton Beer Geeks Anonymous brings you another series of craft beer adventures aboard the Edmonton Radial Railway Society's antique streetcars.
Each event is centered around a specific brewery who will be featuring (where logistically able) a unique cask conditioned ale or selection of seasonal beer.
Edmonton Beer Geeks Anonymous aims to promote awareness and education in the local craft beer community. Hosting this series of events gives us unique platform to reach an audience that may not normally be aware of the truly amazing things Alberta breweries are producing as of late.
Each event listed below is an opportunity to be aboard an antique streetcar with a representative of the given brewery for an hour and half. Each event will primarily take part aboard the streetcar while parked in the middle of the High Level bridge overlooking the Edmonton river valley. The ticket holders will be able to interact with the brewery representative(s) aboard the streetcar while having the opportunity to sample the unique beer crafted for the event.
Ok, so details about each individual charter can be revealed by following the links below, but here is what you all are likely looking for - the who and when!
13 May 2015 - Yukon Brewing
17 June 2015 - Brewsters Brewing Co.*
15 July 2015 - Alley Kat Brewing Co.
12 August 2015 - Ribstone Creek Brewery
16 September 2015 - Norsemen Brewing Co.
7 October 2015 - Mystery Brewery**
* The Brewsters streetcar is extremely difficult to get on to. The patrons of this charter must win their way aboard. The only way of winning tickets onto this charter is to visit the Edmonton Beer Geeks Anonymous booth at the coming Edmonton Craft Beer Festival! Contest details available at the EBGA booth at the festival or by request.
** Not an actual brewery name. This brewery is confirmed and details will be kept secret as best possible.
The search for good beer need not be lonely.
