Dear partners and friends,

Greetings from Bondeni Center! Thanks for your love, support, care and prayers towards Bondeni. Indeed, to us you are God-sent angels that we work together with in His vineyard. God has been gracious to us and has been faithfully supplying our needs.

Hope transforms!

Mary lives in the Bondeni community. She is married and is a mother to three boys and one girl. Like most women from the slum, Mary survived on inconsistent casual labor. When MOHI opened its doors to the Bondeni community, Mary's two children were recruited into the school.
John, her firstborn son, is now in high school at Ndovoini, MOHI’s boarding school, while his brother is in grade six at Bondeni.
After Mary’s children joined MOHI, Mary also joined our skills training program. She later graduated as a tailor and was given a tailoring machine from MOHI to help her start her own business. Mary and her husband worked together and started a small business where they make and sell pillows and pillow cases. Through this business, they are now able to support their family.
Mary is a born-again Christian and her family attends church regularly. Since the family joined MOHI, they have been transformed. Mary has a stable income now and does not rely on the inconsistent casual labor anymore.

Term highlights

  • We participated in sport competitions with other public schools.
  • There is notable improvement in academic performance across all grades.
  • Our school participated in a math and science competition for the first time. We won several awards for math.
  • Teachers participated in a new curriculum training facilitated by the Kenyan government and are now implementing it smoothly.

Working together for transformation

  • Snyder Memorial Baptist Church took our students to a giraffe park for a field trip. They also conducted a VBS and were able to evangelize to 18 families through the “Bring the Light” program.

Please join us in prayer

  • For our grade 8 and grade 12 students as they prepare to sit for their national exams.
  • For God’s provision to complete our permanent building as well as the new construction to replace what was lost in the fire.
  • For God’s protection and security for the Bondeni community and children during school term break.
Here is our temporary building.
This is our permanent structure, now under construction.

327 students at Bondeni school are unsponsored.
