Hope transforms!
Victor Wambua is an energetic and visionary young man that God rescued from the jaws of the enemy through MOHI. Due to the financial challenges his family had, Victor was forced to drop out of school. He decided to try his luck in the matatu industry (public transportation).
What seemed to be a promising opportunity turned into a snare. Victor was introduced to vices such as drugs and robbery. In 2013, he went to live in the Mathare slums, where he joined a gang which was involved in robbery within the city. He was illegally in possession of guns for executing their plans. He was one of the most wanted by the police in 2016. His mother, who was on staff at our Pangani Center, tried to rescue him but nothing worked. In early 2017, Victor was offered an opportunity to work in one of our schools as a caretaker and he made a commitment to attend a discipleship class and turn to God. It was a step of faith towards transformation.
On May 14, 2017, he received the Lord Jesus as savior and committed to attend Outreach Hope Church Ndovoini. It hasn’t been easy for Victor, but through discipleship and genuine love, God has transformed this young man. He has joined our staff microfinance group and has started saving with the goal of buying land for him and his mother.
On July 22, 2018, Victor was baptized. We are hopeful that he will continue to follow Christ's footsteps for God’s glory.
