Are We for Real?Phil Taylor
By: Phil Taylor
Sometimes I find myself out in the community and someone says, "Hello, Phil," and I recognize their face. In those instances, the name and the church where I met this person elude me.

The first thing that comes to mind, however, is that I hope I showed an authentic, "real" walk with Jesus.

The Lord Jesus was genuine. You cannot read the Gospels without being impressed with that fact. His life and His words said the same things. He taught His disciples to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him. Of Him we read, "Christ pleased not himself" (Rom. 15:3). He practiced what he preached.

2022 Annual Homecoming
The annual meeting will be held at 6:00 PM at North Cleveland Baptist Church. There will be a short business meeting before the time of worship, and all messengers from all church need to be in attendance. Phil will lead in a summary of the ministry events for the year and share the direction for the coming one. Guests are welcome and encouraged for the Homecoming service. Remember, messengers should be elected according to the following formula: Each church of fifty members or less shall be entitled to three messengers and one for each additional fifty members, not exceeding ten messengers for one church.

The theme this year is "Press On!!" and we are so exciting to share that vision and what it means for the future of CrossNet Baptist Network and the Bradley County area.

After the business meeting, Dr. Jamie Work, IMB will be speaking.
Fields of Faith
Fields of Faith is coming to Cleveland this year on September 28th at Bradley Central High School in the Jim Smiddy Arena. We are excited to bring this back to the Cleveland area. It has been some time since we have been able to gather together for Fields of Faith, since the COVID-19 pandemic, and while we still encourage people to be conscious of their health and exposure, an event of this magnitude is so important to our community. Make sure to mark this on your calendars and be in attendance at BCHS on 9/28/22 at 6:00 PM in the Jim Smiddy Arena.
Disaster Relief, Final Thoughts
On September 17, 2022, CrossNet Baptist Network's shower and laundry trailer permanently pulled out of Carrie, KY and was brought back home after serving the residents and volunteers for 49 days. The stories that came back with the volunteers were nothing short of miraculous and heartbreaking. While many of the volunteers expressed pain over the loss they encountered, all of them also said that they had been blessed by the experience. It has been encouraging to our hearts, that are so burdened for the citizens of Eastern Kentucky, to hear that we were able to impact lives for the Kingdom of Heaven.

We are so thankful for the volunteers who went and served, operating the shower and laundry trailer. We are especially thankful for Steve Weber who led the volunteer effort and coordinated each person and prepared them for the trip they were to take.

Over the 49 days, we had 23 volunteers, including Phil Taylor, Wayne and Johnnie Morrison, the Elkins family (Ed, Glenda, Andrew, and Hannah), Billie Sue Hamilton, Debbie Fausch, Lisa Thomas, Robert and Navada Rymer, Tony and Joan Ownby, Jeff and Robin Wright, Robert and Connie Anderson, Larry and JoAnn Cavett, Mike Whitlatch, Roy Cross, and Johnathon Powell.

Phil Taylor, Director of Missions, said, "It was a blessing to serve the citizens of Eastern Kentucky. I have long since had a heart for the people of that region, as they gave me my first start in the ministry, and it was good to be able to give back."

Though CrossNet teams will no longer be serving in Kentucky, the area affected by the flooding is still in desperate need of prayer. The region, already devastated by the mining industry and poverty, is now facing a set of new challenges as many rebuild but many others leave that half of the state permanently. Keep them in your hearts and keep the volunteers who are continuing to serve and begin the rebuilding and revitalizing process. This will be a slow recovery, but it will be worthwhile with God's help.

We are continuing to take donations at CrossNet at 2707 N Ocoee St., and your assistance will still be greatly appreciated.
Pursue God and Live
Scripture: Amos 5:4-15

"Seeking God means reorienting our life to God’s service. The object of seeking God is not personal satisfaction, self-confidence, or even spiritual wisdom. The ultimate object is life itself, in all its fullness."

Engaging, Equipping, Igniting
By: David Dawson

Mark Miller, Baptism and Discipleship team leader/Sunday School specialist for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, has developed a program the Lord placed on his heart. In partnership with Roc Collins, the TBMB Strategic Objectives Director, Miller has established the Ignite Tennessee Pastor Meetings and Rallies, an event system to remind Tennessee pastors and citizens just how lost our state truly is. This is not a time for sorrow, however, but an equipping event for the renewal of Tennessee Baptist Church Leadership.
