38th Annual Powell Street Festival, Aug 1 to 3, Oppenheimer Park + other venues. Calling for Volunteers and Donations!

Special Thanks & Welcome

The Powell Street Festival Society (PSFS) would like to give a special thanks to Chisaki Muraki-Valdovinos, who resigned from the PSFS Board of Directors. The society is incredibly grateful for her dedication throughout her many years spent on the Board, and wishes her well on her exciting new developments in Seattle.

From Chisaki

What started as a short-term stint in Vancouver had turned into eight years by the time I joined my husband in Seattle this January. I am thankful for the great memories made with the people I met volunteering with the Powell Street Festival and working in the Downtown Eastside. 2014 has already been full of changes including a new home and a new job at the City Seattle in transportation planning. But the biggest change for us will be in mid-September with the arrival of a Baby Girl! We are excited that she will grow up with memories of going to the Powell Street Festival and catching up with her Vancouver friends every summer.

She wants to be part of the board to make the festival a summer custom for everybody and share all of the wonderful art, good food and the great vibe. She also hopes to bring some of my Human Resource knowledge that she is currently gaining to the board.
