Annual General Meeting & Members Party
Please join us for our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, March 9 at 6:30 pm at Woodwards Heritage Building, W Room, 5th Floor of 111 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC V6B 1H4.
The entrance is near the corner of Abbott and Hastings next to the TD Canada Trust.*
Following the meeting join us at the Members-Only Party at 7:30 pm at one block away**; email or call the office at 604-739-9388 for the address if you plan to join us after the meeting. Enjoy complimentary appetizers donated by our membership partners Coconama and Catfe and beer donated by Parallel 49 Brewing.
If you are not a member yet, you can become one online,via mail, or at the event. The cost is $12 for a life-time membership which gets you voting rights at our Annual General Meeting. For additional benefits, including discounts at local businesses, you can Top-Up for an additional $12 annually. You will receive your Annual Membership card, entitling you to discounts, at the AGM or via mail.
*The Katari Taiko Annual General Meeting is at 7:00 pm, immediately following the Powell Street Festival Society AGM in the same room at the Woodwards Building.
**The Members-Only Party is a private apartment building located one block from the PSFS offices. We will walk as a group to the party following the meeting, or if you arrive late, you will be greeted at the door by a volunteer and directed upstairs.

The Photo Club Project Exhibition
Sharing stories through photography

The Photo Club Project features work by a diverse group – predominantly Chinese and Japanese speaking seniors – who met at Tonari Gumi, the Chinese Cultural Centre Museum and Pandora Park Fieldhouse to explore storytelling through photography. At weekly gatherings, their images were viewed and feedback was exchanged. Time and space was created for language interpretation and the safe exploration of cultural differences.
Facilitator Emiko Morita established The Photo Club Project in response to the discovery of the photographic archive of her late uncle Hiroshi Morita (1927-2012). Hiroshi Morita was born in Vancouver, raised in Japan, and lived a solitary life in Toronto. This exhibition includes, Hiroshi Calling, an ethnography of Hiroshi Morita through his photographs and artifacts.
