38th Annual Powell Street Festival, Aug 1 to 3, Oppenheimer Park + other venues. Calling for Volunteers and Donations!

SPATIAL POETICS XIII: WeMix

Spatial Poetics, an evening of experimental performance pieces, returns July 3rd with Spatial Poetics XIII: WeMix. In Spatial Poetics, artists are invited to create new performance-based work together and encouraged to work beyond their usual disciplines.

Curators YACTAC have assembled an eclectic mix of emerging Asian Canadian artists for Spatial Poetics XIII: WeMix. Among the collaborating artists are visual artist Kuh de Rosario and graphic designer Ryan Romero, who will converge to explore the grey area between contemporary art and design through performance. The concept of collectivity will be examined in a live performance by interdisciplinary artist Patrick Cruz with musicians Franco Maravilla, Miguel Maravilla and Charity Cruz and dancer Michelle Lui. Award-winning spoken word artist, author and filmmaker Kagan Goh, dancer/choreographer Salome Nieto and cellist/composer Nicholas Epperson will pay homage to Japanese Canadians through poems, music and dance.

Spatial Poetics XIII: WeMix takes place on Thursday, July 3 @ 8:00pm at 303 East 8th Avenue in the Luxe Hall. Entry is by suggested donation of $5 - $20.
