Warm greetings from Kusi Kawsay and welcome to current news of the school as it continues to grow and thrive.

Kusi Kawsay Solstice Newsletter 2013

Solstice Greetings from Kusi Kawsay, the Andean school for indigenous children in Pisac, Peru.
Kusi Kawsay sends deep appreciation for another successful year as students learn and grow together, transforming their communities and opening to the world.  They offer us hope for the change we need in the world: unity, dignity, peace and joy.

Just now, we in the Northern hemisphere feel how little of the sun's energy is available to us.  In Andean culture, Inti Raymi, winter solstice requires the people to be active in giving energy back to the sun, using what power and capacity they have to give back and sustain the cosmic order.  In this way people acknowledge their part in the natural life cycle of the whole world.
As you consider the gifts you are making during the holiday season, remember the tremendous impact your donation will make in the education of a new generation of children who are supported to use their culture's wisdom in today's world of challenge and opportunity.

Each and every gift will be deeply honored as the school remains dependent on the generosity of its community of donors.  At the same time, Kusi Kawsay is proud to announce that fundraising for 2014 begins with substantial secured pledges, grants and tuition.  In addition, a new level of strategic planning is underway with support from global non-profits and a new director of development.
This promises to be a pivotal year for Kusi Kawsay as our collective energy, expertise and resources combine to secure a long term future for this school, already serving as a model for others.

Thank you so much for your generosity.  Urpillay Sonqollay.

All the volunteers that make Kusi Kawsay possible (and keep overhead at less than 1%!)
