Message from President Diana
Happy Fall! I always love this season. We are finally getting some cooler temperatures, and we get to see all the wonderful fall colors. I am excited that everyone is getting involved with the committees and getting the ball rolling with so many great projects. Thank you! As I write this, several members are getting ready to attend the District meeting on September 29th. I am sure they gathered a lot of great information and will share with us soon.
The membership committee will be having a Pizza Party on October 22nd. All members are invited. This is a great way to invite friends that may be interested in joining our club and for everyone to get to know our newer members better.
As a reminder: we would like to see everyone attend our two monthly meetings, the Program meeting and Business meeting. We average less than 50% of our membership at the meetings even though we discuss so much information at those meetings. We want to hear all your voices so that we can have a strong club, so it's important that everyone who can attend does. Because of the results of our member survey and a club vote at the last business meeting, in January we will be moving the Program meeting to the first Monday at 6:30pm. This should help those who can’t make the morning meeting be able to attend.
See you soon!
Diana

Dream Programs
The Soroptimist Dream Programs — the Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women and Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls — are dedicated to helping women and girls achieve social and economic empowerment.
“Empowerment” is a word we hear often, but what exactly does it mean for women and girls? Simply put, women are empowered when they are free to act in their own best interest.
Soroptimist International of the Americas improves the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. We work for a world where women and girls have the resources and opportunities they need to reach their full potential and live their dreams.
Social and economic empowerment are closely intertwined. Women are economically empowered when they have control over their own finances and well being— when they have a voice in the financial decisions to shape their lives and the lives of their families. Women are socially empowered when they have a personal sense of autonomy, self-confidence, and the power to control their private and public lives. Women’s social and economic empowerment is necessary for successful and healthy women and girls, as well as families and communities.

Public Relations Committee
Kristine Smith & Holly Lakatos Co-Chairs
Meets: Next meeting: Oct. 24th at 1pm (virtual meeting)
The Membership Roster was distributed at the September Business Meeting. If you didn't get your copy, please contact Treasurer Janet.
The club donated a raffle basket to Project R.I.D.E. for their fundraiser.
The committee is investigating a "club shirt" that we can wear at events to easily show that we're a member of SIEG. We'll present a proposal at a future Membership Meeting. We're also trying to put together a "Parade Posse" that will march/ride in upcoming community events. If you're interested, contact Holly.
