Thanks to the efforts of many of you, The Matsiko Choir
spent three nights at the church this week and we enjoyed a unique, joy-filled performance by the choir last night (Thursday). A special thank you to Lois Arthur and Eunice Wilson
who led the way.
For the third year in a row, I was struck by how the simple presence of the kids is luminous.
Yes, it is cliche to be inspired by poor, marginalized kids who are rising above difficult circumstances, however, I was reminded that is it is real
and it matters.
I am so proud of how many of you quietly provided enough food for them to take some on the road, enough blankets and sleeping bags to feel very at home sleeping (and playing) in the Everts Room and elsewhere. I am encouraged by those who were able to attend the concert AND how you brought friends along with you. So good.
Finally, I am inspired by how many of you chose to sponsor kids.
If you sponsored a Matsiko kid, I would love to hear about your journey with them.
Grace and Peace,
Join us for worship with communion on the Chancel in the Sanctuary this week.
