Our brothers and sisters in the Eastern Church celebrate their Easter, their Resurrection Sunday, a week behind us. Late in the evening Saturday night, they will gather just before the stroke of midnight to pronounce the resurrection of Christ similarly to how we announce the birth of Christ at our midnight Christmas Eve service.

At the stroke of midnight, they will sing an ancient prayer called the Paschal troparion. It is not unusual for this troparion to be sung in every language represented in the congregation.

Christ is risen from the dead!
By death he trampled death
and to those in the tombs he granted life!

This weekend, the troparion will primarily be sung in languages other than English.

...and pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ as they walk the Via Delarosa

The Matsiko World Orphan Choir returns! The choir consists of children from Liberia, Peru, and India. Their mission is to share a message of hope for the world's 600 million orphaned and at-risk children by performing energetic and dynamic cultural dances in full vibrant costumes and songs that are primarily original. They have performed all over the United States in schools, churches, professional sporting events, multicultural events, and more. The event is free and a donation will be collected. You can see them perform and learn a little more about the group in this video:

Worship: The Work of the People

Did you know you can receive email invitations to sign up to participate in our Sunday Service?

Worship is the central act of a Christian community. We bring all of our gifts and talents on Sunday to celebrate and to connect with one another in a distinct and unique space centered around Christ. It is a co-creative space that you contribute to even by simply attending.

There are various ways you can take a "next step" into the worshipping life of our community. When you take a next step by reading, greeting, offering food, contributing musically, sharing a story, or a "Soapbox Sermon," you deepen our life together as you deepen your own spiritual life.

If you would like to receive email invitations to sign up, email Sean and indicate how you might like to be involved. What skill or ability or interest do you have that would give you joy to use on Sundays? Let's talk! Email Sean:
