Pledging Update!

We have met our pledge goal and landed on the other side. Thank you for your generous contributions! We are the church together and we look forward to a good year ahead.

From last weeks testimonies -

David Tolley: “My mother is a Christian minister and I went to theological school before choosing another career. Naturally, I had a lot of questions when we toured different churches. Often, the churches’ theologies, I felt, were not meaningful for me and my family. We were looking for a church where we could ask questions and be nurtured in faith. This church became that place for us. This place is like a hidden gem. It reminds me of a hidden baseball diamond we found on our running trail. A little rugged, but so much fun for the family. Once we find it, we derive much joy from it.”

Wendy Sheehan: “On our first visit to First Baptist Church in Newton Centre—my first time ever inside a Baptist church—I was surprised to find a very relaxed atmosphere. Everyone was welcoming without overwhelming. I like that communion is completely open. I must admit that I do not know what to believe. But even though I don’t have strong faith, I do have hope and...I figure that whatever the truth is, it must be grounded in trying to “do good” for our families, our community and our world. It is a good and joyful thing for us give of our time and talents. In return, we receive grace, love and a place to belong.”

Sunday, April 7: Newton Open Studios Stroll and Lunch. Immediately after worship in our beautiful sanctuary, we will be touring some artist spots in to Newton Centre and grab lunch afterwards. All are welcome. Look for Joshua after service and join us.
